About Columbus City Adventures:

Columbus City Adventures – Central Ohio’s first full-service city tour provider – was born of a passion for telling the stories of the city, and a drive to reveal the best sights, sites, tales, and lore, to tourists, locals, and the newly relocated.

Columbus City Adventures was founded by Jeff Lafever, Bethia Woolf, and Andy Dehus in June 2017.

Jeff cultivated an enthusiasm for developing and guiding city tours in Central Ohio during his decade as the Executive Director of the Columbus Historical Society. In addition to full oversight of the Society’s strategy and operations, Jeff created, marketed, and oversaw their highly regarded tour program.  He has lead hundreds of historical/cultural tours of the city and surrounding communities, worked with both local, regional, and international tourism groups, and has created thoughtfully customized experiences for groups such as the American Association for the Blind and a delegation from Azerbaijan. A 35 year resident of Columbus and graduate of the Ohio State University, Jeff was a member of the committee that created the city’s Certified Tourism Ambassador program and was Columbus’ Certified Tourism Ambassador of the Year in 2019. Jeff is also an ardent world traveler with over 20 countries visited, and derives continued inspiration from the many tours he attends as he criss crosses the globe.

Andy and Bethia founded Columbus’s first guided food tour company – Columbus Food Adventures – in 2010, and co-founded the microbrewery tour business Columbus Brew Adventures with Jim Ellison in 2013. Both companies stemmed from an enthusiasm for sharing the quality and diversity of the city’s food and drink, and have garnered mentions in media outlets such as the Chicago Tribune, NPR, and National Geographic. Bethia is widely considered a luminary in the food community, is a frequent consultant for Experience Columbus, and her food writing is featured in Columbus Monthly. Andy has an extensive background in design and marketing, but feels his most important role is in keeping Bethia grounded. He also made the most recent edit of this about page, and is characterized by some as being ‘mischievous’.
