Mission Coffee Co.
📍 11 Price Ave, Short North
The star of the show here is their garage door, which is open when the weather is cooperating. But even when closed, it turns into a floor-to-ceiling window that allows just enough natural light in to set the mood. We’re talking exposed brick walls, a rustic wooden coffee bar, and some elevated lounge seating, all recipes for a cozy atmosphere.
Honey Cup Coffee Company
📍 2489 Summit St
Tucked away just off of Hudson St and Summit, Honey Cup Coffee is basically the coffee shop you think of in your head when you hear “cozy coffee shop,” but in real life. With leather sofas, plants all around, colorful walls, and more, Honey Cup is the place to be in the fall.
Maudine’s at The Junto Hotel
📍 77 Belle St, Downtown
The inside of Maudine’s is like they hired an interior decorator and architect and just said “make it cozy and make it wonderful.” With wooden walls, cozy booths, unique tile flooring, and floor-to-ceiling windows, this is an underrated and often-overlooked coffee shop right next to Genoa Park.

Now Let’s Talk About Some Cozy A** Bars
Sweeney’s Walnut Street Tavern
📍 500 W Walnut St, Franklinton
From the outside, Sweeney’s looks like a tall, skinny Victorian house that has no business being a bar, which is exactly the point. Step inside and you’ll find a fully stocked bar on the main floor, a quieter upstairs for when you actually want to hear your friends talk, and a backyard that feels more like a friend’s cookout than a bar patio. Grab a pickleback, dig through the vinyl collection, or order off one of the biggest Malört menus in the city. We already called Sweeney’s one of the coolest hidden gems in Franklinton, and it’s an even better hang once the weather cools off.
Citizens Trust
📍 11 W Gay St, Downtown
Located in a former bank, this cocktail bar features high ceilings and fancy furniture, making it a great place to cozy up in downtown Columbus along Gay Street. It’s open Wednesday through Saturday evenings, so plan your visit accordingly.
There’s also ongoing construction on Gay Street for the Captial Line construction project, which is affecting many Gay Street businesses. Needless to say, they need your support now more than ever due to decreased traffic!
The Alibi Bourbon & Cocktail Lounge
📍 843 N High St, Short North
This spot is like the epitome of cozy. Small, quaint, delicious drinks, a popcorn machine, and even some lounge seating if you’d prefer to be closer to the floor as opposed to the hightop seating. We already named the Alibi one of the best cocktail bars in Central Ohio, and the cooler weather means the spot will only get cozier. Get there early because this place fills up fast.
