If you’re tired of walking into a big-box sneaker store, staring at the same twelve pairs on the wall, and leaving with nothing, you’re not alone. The Short North has quietly become one of the best stretches for independent sneaker culture in all of Ohio.
These shops aren’t just selling shoes. They’ve got rare Jordans, limited streetwear, KAWS figures, Supreme collectibles, and staff who actually know what they’re talking about. Here’s where to go.
Sneaker Shops in the Short North
614Sneaker
970 N High St, Columbus, OH 43201
614Sneaker has one of the best origin stories in Columbus retail. Founder Brody started reselling out of his bedroom in 2021, driving to Kroger parking lots for meetups and hitting Midwest sneaker events every weekend. By 2023 he opened a 1,600-square-foot store in the Short North. Two years later, demand had gotten so big he ditched the idea of a second location and built a 5,000-square-foot mega flagship right here on High Street instead.
The sneaker selection is massive: Jordans, ASICS, New Balance, Travis Scott, Off-White, Yeezy, and more, with new inventory dropping daily. The streetwear wall covers Supreme, BAPE, Chrome Hearts, Gallery Dept., KITH, Sp5der, and others.
But the wildest part is the collectibles section, which has over 150 products. We’re talking KAWS vinyl figures, limited-edition Bearbricks, a KAWS Indonesia Lantern, a Supreme Anonima Castelli Pila Chair, Supreme Umbro soccer balls, a Ben Baller gold crowbar, and rare art books. You could spend serious money in here without ever touching a shoe box.
Buy, sell, and trade in-store daily. No appointment needed.

Sole Classics
846 N High St, Columbus, OH 43215
Sole Classics is the OG of Columbus sneaker culture, and at this point it’s grown into something closer to a full lifestyle boutique. The footwear catalog alone covers Nike, Jordan, adidas, New Balance, Hoka, Saucony, Converse, Vans, Birkenstock, and harder-to-find labels like Marni and COMME des GARÇONS.
Beyond the shoes, you’ll find curated streetwear, accessories, Taschen art books, candles, rugs, fragrances, and skate decks. They’ve even launched their own in-house apparel line, Kingsrowe, built around elevated cuts and timeless design.
The fact that Sole Classics just opened a second location in Inglewood, California tells you everything about how far the brand has come. The Short North original at 846 N. High is still the one, though.

Lit Kicks
15 W 5th Ave, Columbus, OH 43201
Lit Kicks just made the move to the Short North, and it’s a welcome addition to the block. The shop runs a buy, sell, and trade model with both brand-new deadstock and pre-owned inventory, so the selection here feels more like a discovery than a standard retail trip.
You’ll find Jordans, Nike Air Force 1s, ASICS, BAPE, Supreme, Rick Owens, Godspeed, Vale Forever, and more. The pre-owned section is where the real grails live, with pieces like the Jordan 1 High Virgil Abloh Archive Alaska and BAPE Sta Low Baby Milo Hello Kitty collab showing up in inventory.
Open Tuesday through Saturday 11am–7pm, Sundays noon–5pm.

Heat Archive | (University District)
1593 N High St, Columbus, OH 43201
Technically Heat Archive sits just north of the Short North in the University District, but it’s a straight shot up High Street and absolutely worth adding to your route. The shop specializes in rare and limited shoes, premium vintage tees, and streetwear, with new inventory coming in daily and 432,000 Instagram followers who’d back that up.
They also run live $1 auctions on the NTWRK app Monday through Thursday at 5:30pm EST, so even if you can’t make it to the store, you’ve got a shot at something good.
What reviewers love most is the energy inside. Unlike a lot of sneaker shops, the staff here actually greets you, helps you out, and treats the visit like it matters. Open seven days a week.

Honorable Mention: 614Sole | (Downtown)
1593 N High St, Columbus, OH 43201
614Sole sits downtown near the Scioto Mile rather than the Short North, but it’s just two blocks from High Street and worth knowing. The boutique covers Jordans, Dunks, Yeezys, Kobes, LeBrons, FOG Essentials, Supreme, and designer accessories from Gucci and Louis Vuitton. There’s also a solid under-$100 sneaker section and a collectibles wall with KAWS sculptures, clocks, and lamps.
Buy, sell, and trade in-store.
Whether you’re building a summer rotation, hunting a grail, or just want to walk into a store where the staff actually knows what they’re talking about, these are your spots. The Short North sneaker scene is thriving, and every one of these shops has something the mall simply cannot offer.
Consider this your unfair advantage in Columbus.
