Nothing kills a good weeknight patio plan faster than showing up somewhere with a gorgeous outdoor seat but a drink menu that costs as much as dinner. The whole point of gathering your friends after work is fresh air and good deals, not one or the other.
But luckily, not all Columbus restaurants are built that way…
We rounded up 15 spots across Columbus and Central Ohio where the patio and the happy hour are both worth showing up for. Every deal below was checked directly against restaurant menus and official sites as of July 29, 2026, so consider this your no-guesswork guide to the rest of summer.
1. Barcelona (German Village)
263 E. Whittier St., Columbus
Barcelona’s patio is first come, first served, which means the German Village crowd starts circling before 4 p.m. on nice days. Happy hour runs Tuesday through Saturday, 4 to 6 p.m. at the bar, with $6 drinks including the restaurant’s famous housemade sangria, wine, beer, and craft cocktails.
Grab a bar seat, order the sangria, and claim a patio table the second one opens up. This one has been a German Village institution since 1996 for a reason.

2. Lindey’s (German Village)
169 E. Beck St., Columbus
Lindey’s scenic patio just took home Best Overall Restaurant in this year’s ColumBEST awards, and happy hour here is Monday through Friday, 4 to 6 p.m. at the bar, with the happy hour menu at 50% off.
One heads up: the German Village Commission just approved a refresh for the second-floor patio (new decking, fresh paint), but no start date has been set, so it’s open and pouring as usual this summer.
3. Hofbräuhaus Columbus (Grandview Yard)
800 Goodale Blvd., Columbus
If your group wants biergarten energy without booking a flight to Munich, this is the move. Happy hour runs Monday through Friday, 3 to 6 p.m., with $4 half-liters of Lager, Dunkel, and Hefeweizen, plus half-price appetizers.
The biergarten seating is weather dependent, so check ahead on days with iffy forecasts.

4. Third & Hollywood (Grandview Heights)
1433 W. Third Ave., Grandview Heights
This Grandview favorite keeps its happy hour simple and generous: weekdays from 4:30 to 6 p.m., $3 off all drinks and starters, plus complimentary cheddar herb biscuits that somehow never get old.
The patio here is a favorite for date nights, but it works just as well for a group catching up after work.
*Note: This article has been updated to correct an error that falsely labeled Third & Hollywood as a Cameron Mitchell Restaurant. Third & Hollywood is not affiliated with Cameron Mitchell, but rather is a part of the Northstar Restaurant Group*
5. High Bank Distillery Co. (Grandview)
1051 Goodale Blvd., Columbus
High Bank’s front patio fills up fast, especially once happy hour kicks in Monday through Saturday, 3 to 6 p.m. Expect $3 off all spirits and cocktails, $2 off shareables, and $1 off draft beer and wine.
Since this is a working distillery, the cocktail list leans into their own small-batch spirits, so it’s worth ordering something other than a standard well drink.

6. Forno Kitchen + Bar (Short North)
721 N. High St., Columbus
Forno’s stone-fired pizzas and its patio are both Short North favorites, and happy hour runs Monday through Friday, 4 to 6 p.m., with half-price apps, pizzas, and select drinks.
Request the patio when you book if you want to skip the busier dining room and still catch the always-exhilarating High Street people-watching. And speaking of exhilarating, there’s nothing more exhilarating than getting the Step Out Columbus newsletter in your email inbox every day. Subscribe here!
7. Goodale Station (Arena District)
77 E. Nationwide Blvd., Columbus
Twelve stories up on top of the Canopy by Hilton, Goodale Station’s rooftop patio has fire pits and one of the best LeVeque Tower views in the city. Happy hour is Monday through Friday, 4 to 6 p.m., with a rotating list of seasonal craft cocktails at happy hour pricing.
Get there before 5 p.m. on a Friday if you want an outdoor table, because this rooftop fills in fast.

8. Mezzo (Historic Dublin)
12 W. Bridge St., Dublin
Mezzo is the rare spot with three separate patios, and all of them are open for happy hour, Sunday through Friday, 4 to 6 p.m. Expect half-off pizzas, $5 glasses of house wine, and $1 off all beer and cider.
The string lights and chandeliers make this one feel like a date-night spot, but it handles a big group of friends just as easily.
9. VASO Rooftop Lounge (Dublin)
6540 Riverside Dr., Dublin
Eight floors up on top of the AC Hotel, VASO trades a downtown skyline for a view of the Scioto River and the Dublin countryside. Happy hour runs Monday through Friday, 4 to 6 p.m. at the bar, with Spanish-inspired tapas and handcrafted cocktails at a discount.
This is the pick when you want your group photo to look like you left the country for the evening.

10. Tucci’s (Historic Dublin)
35 N. High St., Dublin
Tucci’s recently completed a $2.5 million patio expansion, and the result is a 3,000 square foot, four-season outdoor space with palm trees, fire features, and live music on the regular. Happy hour runs Monday through Friday, 3 to 6 p.m., with discounted cocktails and wine by the glass.
Come for the patio upgrade, stay for the fact that it now works as an outdoor hang even when the weather turns.
11. Fado Pub & Kitchen (Bridge Park, Dublin)
6652 Riverside Dr., Dublin
Fado’s patio has one of the best views of the Dublin Link pedestrian bridge in the whole district, and happy hour runs Monday through Friday, 4 to 7 p.m., which is one of the longer windows on this list.
Order the fried goat cheese app and settle in for the extra hour.

12. Asterisk Supper Club (Westerville)
14 N. State St., Westerville
Set inside a building with an original 1890s hand-carved bar, Asterisk runs happy hour from 3 to 6 p.m. on select weekdays, with $3 off appetizers, $5 draft beers, $6 draft wines, and $8 select cocktails. Since the exact days can shift week to week, it’s worth a quick glance at their online specials calendar before you head out.
The floor-to-ceiling bookshelves and antique chandeliers make this one feel more like a friend’s living room than a bar.
13. Hudson 29 (Upper Arlington)
1600 W. Lane Ave., Upper Arlington
Hudson 29’s bar-only happy hour covers more ground than most: Monday through Friday, 4 to 6 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday, 3 to 5 p.m. Sushi rolls, apps, wine, and cocktails all get the discount treatment.
The covered patio here works well even when the weather is only sort of cooperating.

14. Rusty Bucket (New Albany)
180 Market St., New Albany
This neighborhood tavern keeps happy hour easy: Monday through Friday, 3 to 6 p.m., with half-priced appetizers, $1 off cocktails, and $12 pizzas, available anywhere in the restaurant, patio included.
It is a reliable, no-fuss pick when your group can’t agree on anywhere fancier.
15. The Barn at Rocky Fork Creek (Gahanna)
1370 E. Johnstown Rd., Gahanna
The Barn pairs a steakhouse dinner menu with a happy hour built for the outdoor Terrace and Bourbon Lounge, Monday through Friday, 4 to 6 p.m. Signature cocktails run $8, whiskey sidecars are $10, and draft beers are $6.
The firepit seating makes this one worth a repeat visit even after the sun goes down.
