How many times have you driven past a plaza or a building and thought “wait… when did THAT restaurant take over this spot?”
Well that seems to be my thought every time I drive past the plaza on the corner of Northwest Boulevard and 3rd Avenue in Grandview.
Seriously, it feels like every time I find myself traveling down Northwest Boulevard, there’s a new restaurant operating out of that piece of seemingly cursed real estate.
It’s sad to think about how many times a business has opened in this spot, only to shutter within a year or so, with many people saying “well, the location was just bad.” You’d think eventually we’d be able to recognize as Central Ohioans that, oh yeah, there’s a restaurant on this street corner and maybe we should check it out!

So that’s what we’re gonna do.
Urban Gourmet just opened their second-ever location in the plaza located at 1333 Northwest Boulevard, Columbus, OH 43205. If you’ve heard the name before, you probably recognize it from their location in the East Market.
Their specialized menu generally revolves around classic sandwiches like Philly Cheesesteaks and Reubens, soul food pastas like their creamy Cajun Chicken and Chicken Diavolo, juicy burgers, and their grilled or fried chicken wings.

I am an absolute sucker for grilled wings, and this spot has been able to scratch that itch that has been bugging me for so long. They’re actually perfect.
If you want to find your new favorite food restaurant and want to help us reverse the curse of this location, please go check out Urban Gourmet at 1333 Northwest Boulevard, Columbus, OH 43205, and let us know what you think.
