“What if an Italian grandfather opened a market and made enough food to feed all of Dublin for a week straight?” you ask with a tear in your eye at the beauty of your thought.

“Oh? You mean Vincenzo’s Convenient Elegance?” we say, coming in for a sweet embrace.

This family-owned Italian grocery store in Dublin is one of Central Ohio’s most underrated food havens. It’s part deli, part bakery, part wine shop, part carb-loading adventure, and it’s all incredible. It’s the kind of place where you walk in just to “grab a quick bite” on your way back to the office and leave with three meals, a bottle of wine, and a loaf of bread that will ruin you for all future grocery store loaves.

Yes, really.

The Food is Ridiculous(ly good).

Let’s start with the headline act: the 5-pound calzone. Yes, five pounds. Not pip pip cheerio, ello govna pounds. I’m talkin’ the I could get a workout in if I did some bicep curls with this sandwich type of pounds.

We’re talkin’ homemade dough baked until golden brown, stuffed with cheese, meats, and love. They sell it by the slice (because trust us, you’re NOT eating an entire calzone on your own), and it makes the perfect lunchtime takeout meal. It’s hot, hearty, and heavy in the way that makes your soul happy.

But the calzones are just the beginning.

Their prepared meals, like their lasagna, manicotti, Veal Parmigiano, stromboli, and chicken cutlets, are all made fresh daily. By HAND! And they are so mouthwateringly good.

They also do incredible sandwiches, stacked with homemade meatballs or Italian meats and cheeses and served on house-baked Italian rolls that could double as flotation devices. At just $15 per sandwich, the value makes me feel like I’m committing highway robbery.

You will not finish an entire sandwich in one sitting, so prepare for leftovers!

The Bread That Changed Me

I don’t say this lightly: Vincenzo’s bread is life-changing. I’ve tried the rosemary sea salt loaf and the dinner rolls, and both were so good they made me reevaluate every bread-buying decision I’ve made since.

I don’t even walk down the bread aisle at Kroger anymore.

In fact, when I visited, Louis – the owner and a certified bread whisperer on all accounts – pulled a steaming loaf fresh from the oven, doused it in olive oil, and handed it to me. “Go pass this out to people in the store,” he said.

So I did. And within seconds, the entire shop turned into a communion of strangers tearing into this rosemary sea salt masterpiece like it was the last loaf on Earth. No one even asked questions. That’s the kind of magic this place brings.

You’re Family Here. Like Olive Garden, But Way Better

No shade to Olive Garden, of course, but Louis and his team are in a league of their own.

Louis is the kind of guy who’ll welcome you like an old friend, feed you like family, and probably give you a wine recommendation while he’s at it.

He and the staff are constantly hustling to keep up with demand, so yes, it can get busy, and yes, you should go early or call ahead. But even if they’re out of one item, whatever they do have is going to absolutely knock your socks off.

And speaking of wine: their selection is massive. You’ll find everything from affordable weekday reds to fancier bottles perfect for impressing your in-laws. They’ll even help pair the wine with your meal, because of course they will.

Oh, and did I mention they also make killer cannoli and tiramisu? Yeah, of course they do.

Vincenzo’s is literally perfect.
