Once Upon a Panel: Telling Stories with Music, Drama, and Comics
This event was rescheduled from October 5th, 2025 to January 25th, 2026.
Do you like stories? (Who doesn’t?)
Elementary-aged children and their families are invited to join teaching artist Risa Beth Cohen for Once Upon a Panel: Telling Stories with Music, Drama, and Comics—an interactive workshop exploring the many ways we tell and share stories.
Together, we’ll discover that stories help us make sense of the world. We’ll recognize that everyone is a storyteller and that stories can take many forms: spoken, sung, drawn, danced, and acted out. Participants will learn to identify core story elements—beginning, middle, and end; character, conflict, resolution, and setting—and see how these show up in comics, music, and theater.
We’ll analyze comics from the Billy Ireland Cartoon Library & Museum’s collection, act out scenes, and sing songs. Join us for creativity, movement, music, learning, and fun!
