Featuring The Soulville Horns (30 Anniversary Show)

Presented by Bob Teague and Friends

Bill Toms Poster Photo
Bill Toms and Hard Rain with The Soulville Horns return to Natalie’s for their annual pilgrimage to soothe your souls, make you forget about your troubles, and rock the house. They’ve played Natalie’s for over a decade, starting out way back at the Worthington Natalie’s and then the Music Hall in Grandview (always to a full house). It’s going to be extra special this year as Bill is celebrating his 30th anniversary with the band he founded, Hard Rain and The Soulville Horns. During that time, he toured not only throughout the United States, but also in Europe for many years.

He gathered this group of musicians together while he was the lead guitarist for Joe Grushecky and The Houserockers, where he received international fame. He played with both bands for over a decade before deciding to make Hard Rain his full time focus. After 30 years, this has evolved into far more than a band, they’ve become friends, brothers and family. And, they can and almost read each other’s mind when it comes to the music they play.

This is always a special evening of music from Bill and his band, but this year is extra special as they celebrate their 30 year anniversary with you. They’ve been referred to as Pittsburgh music legends — and rightfully so. The influences of Stax, Blues, Soul, and Rock and Roll are immediately mixed together into a gumbo that sets your head bobbing and feet tapping.

It’s more than just a show, it’s a soul-stirring evening of enjoyment. You don’t just go to a Bill Toms concert, you experience it. From the first note, you’re lifted up and taken on a ride with the music. By the time the music’s over for the evening, the band has given you every last bit of energy they have.

Bill has released over a dozen albums with Hard Rain. In 2025 he released “It’s All We’re Fighting For,” which was produced by the award-winning Rick Witkowski (of Crack The Sky fame). He also released “The Official Bootleg Series Vol.1-Live at Moondogs” shortly after that. Earlier this year, Bill and his bandmates Tom Breiding and Wil Kondrich recorded a Songs at The Center show that will be released nationwide.

He has shared the stage with many folks you are familiar with, including Kevin Gordon, The Band, Will Kimbrough, Little Feat, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Levon Helm, Bob Dylan, Buddy Guy and Bruce Springsteen, to name a few. That’s a pretty darn impressive list of musicians to share the stage with! Both the above-mentioned Bruce Springsteen (E Street Band) and Will Kimbrough (Jimmy Buffett, Rodney Crowell, Emmylou Harris) have also produced albums with Bill. Will may sum it up best:

“Bill Toms is a poet, a soul-shouter and a guitar slinger with one foot in the gutter and an eye on the heavens above.”

Kimbrough nailed it. Since starting Hard Rain, Bill has been an indefatigable rock-and-soul warrior of the highest order. Bill exudes an expansive generosity of spirit that reflects the idealism and romanticism at the heart of the best rock-and-roll, but he grounds it all in street-level reality and hard-earned faith.

Join us on this special 30th Anniversary evening of music that will rock your soul and you won’t forget.

Food & Bar: Our full food and drink menu will be available before and during the show.
