This annual event at Natalie’s recognizes the life of Sylvester “Sly” Stone who left this earthly world on June 9, 2025. The Ohio Sly Stone Tribute Band has been paying homage to the music of Sly and the Family Stone and celebrating his birthday, March 15, 1945, by bringing together a group of talented musicians who want to showcase his legendary and everlasting impact his music has had on American music culture. It features national recording artists Urban Jazz Coalition along with vocalists Ron Jenkins, Tia Harris and Vicki Saunders. Guest vocalist this year is Syd Alexis of Austin and the Syd Experience! In true birthday fashion, there will be party favors, cupcakes, dance/costume prizes.
Sly’s Stone’s music was a blend of rock, soul, pop and funk. But most importantly, Sly’s music had a very clear message – bring people together! Everyday People. Stand, It’s a Family Affair, You Can Make it if You Try, Dance to the Music and more. Long live Sly Stone!
