Is it even Thanksgiving if there’s no pumpkin pie? From the flaky crusts to that creamy, perfectly spiced filling, pumpkin pie is basically the MVP of the dessert table — and Central Ohio has some serious contenders in the pie game.
Whether you’re into classic pumpkin pie, fancy cream twists, or a brown butter spin, these five spots around Columbus are dishing out slices that might just outshine the turkey (on second thought, they definitely will… turkey gets outclassed every year by the side dishes anyways).
Grab one (or all five) of these, and watch your Thanksgiving crew fall in love right before your eyes. Ready for pie bliss? Let’s dive in!
Ohio Pies
No Permanent Location (Home Bakery) | Order Here
Ohio Pies is a licensed home bakery owned by Emily Irvine, who has rightfully earned the most prestigious (yet unofficial) title in the Step Out Columbus universe as one of Central Ohio’s top pie wizards. With a crust that’s *chef’s kiss* perfection and a lineup of seasonal flavors, these pies practically fly off the shelves. Besides her knockout Pumpkin Pie, Emily also bakes up Apple Crumb, classic Apple, Pecan, and much more. Show up with one of these beauties on Thanksgiving, and everyone at the table will think you cast a pie spell.

Mrs. Goodman’s Baking Co.
901 High St, Worthington, OH 43085 | Order Here
My parents live in Worthington, so you better believe I’ve had my share of Mrs. Goodman’s pies. Their cozy little shop churns out some of the most drool-worthy breads and desserts in town, but their Pumpkin Cream Pie is on a whole other level. Imagine a graham cracker crust that’s just the right mix of sweet and crumbly, with a Pumpkin Silk Cream filling that’s smooth, spiced, and basically dreamy. Grab one of these for your feast, and prepare for some serious pie envy.

Dough Mama
3335 N High St, Columbus, OH 43202 | Order Here
Dough Mama is the brainchild of classically trained pastry chef Perrie Wilkof, whose pies are so beloved they practically required their own shop. Perrie has baked for places like Skillet and Yellow Brick Pizza, but now she’s got her own Clintonville storefront to crank out even more goodness. The Brown Butter Pumpkin Pie here is a masterpiece — spiced pumpkin and sweet potato custard in a buttery crust that’s so good it’ll dance on your taste buds. Seriously, these pies are little pieces of perfection.

Just Pies

The name says it all. Just Pies does, well, just pies, and they’ve been perfecting their craft for years. With a focus on pies alone, you know they’ve got this down to a science. Their seasonal pumpkin pie is no exception: it’s simple, classic, and absolutely packed with flavor. Made with just pumpkin, eggs, cream, and a top-secret spice mix, this is the pumpkin pie that feels like home. If you’re a no-frills pumpkin lover, Just Pies will knock your socks off.

Resch’s Bakery
4061 E Livingston Ave, Columbus, OH 43227 | Call (614) 237-7421 or stop by in person to order
Resch’s has been slinging some of the best donuts in Columbus for decades, but their Pumpkin Pie deserves its own spotlight. They’ve been in the business for over 100 years, so when it comes to baking, they know exactly what they’re doing. Their pumpkin pie is the stuff of legends, with a flavor that’s rich, warm, and the perfect finish to any Thanksgiving spread. When you grab a pie from Resch’s, you’re taking home a slice of Columbus history — aaaaand some really good pumpkin pie.
