Baker’s originally began as a hardy mum growing operation from their backyard in the 1970’s.  Their desire to grow and sell plants inspired them to establish Baker’s Village Garden Center & Gift Shoppe in April of 1980 in the quaint village of Shawnee Hills, an up and coming growth area in Northwest Columbus.  This little village had lots of charm, a great setting and a need for a quality garden center.

The Baker’s – Roger & Donna, joined by their son, Jeff Baker, and daughter, Jami Baker, began construction of a small family store featuring a garden center and consignment gift shoppe.  In 1985, they expanded their business with the addition of a full-time floral design center as well as expanding the gift shoppe and Christmas department.

Additional land was purchased and the garden center expanded, as well to carry a wider range of perennials, herbs, hanging baskets, roses, shrubs and trees.

In the mid 90’s, the business continued to blossom and Baker’s began growing their own garden center stock with off-site greenhouses.  Both Jeff and Jami graduated with Horticulture and Marketing degrees respectively, and the business continues to grow into the new millennium and present day Baker’s.

In their 42nd year, the Baker’s take a great deal of pride in their business. The quality of materials, stock and presentation of their unique products set them apart from other like businesses.

Baker’s is passionate about inspiring traditions and bringing joy to life’s celebrations through holiday and seasonal home decorations.  A visit to Baker’s is not only a great shopping trip, it’s a delightful experience!
