Whether you want to wow the hottie you’ve been trying to court with a fancy and fun first date or keep things interesting with your partner of 30 years, there’s nothing that hits quite like a good date night.

Here at Step Out Columbus, we believe any good date night has to include 4 very, VERY important steps:

  1. Romance: Obvious, but often overlooked. Injecting romance can be done in a variety of ways, such as buying the other person flowers, a card, a gift, or selecting a restaurant with the right ambience.
  2. Good Food: Any good date idea can be ruined by bad, or even just ~meh~, food.
  3. Fun: No one wants to go on a date that’s not fun and/or exciting, and we don’t blame them!
  4. Ice Cream: Every awesome date I’ve ever been on ended with a big old chocolate milkshake at the end of the night. Trust us on this one.

Without further ado, here’s the ultimate itinerary for love.

Steps 1 and 2: Romantic Dinner at The Pearl

88 N High St, Dublin, OH 43017

Boom. Just by going to The Pearl, You already knocked steps 1 and 2 out! The intimate atmosphere and super cozy interior design are going to be a hit from the jump, and you haven’t even tried the food yet.

We highly recommend trying any of the snacks or starters, as they’re all good and perfect for sharing; however, we’re partial to the Old Fashioned Deviled Eggs and Jalapeño Corn Spoon Bread with honey and whipped butter.

If you are seafood-heads, go ahead and go all-in on the oysters or shellfish tower. Everything is so fresh, you’d think it was all caught in the Scioto River 20 minutes ago. If you’re not a seafood person, the chicken sandwiches, steak, and salads are also incredibly satisfying and delicious. Bon Appétit!

Step 3: Fun and Games at Scene75

5033 Tuttle Crossing Blvd, Dublin, OH 43016

You know the saying: it’s all fun and games until somebody… falls in love at an arcade. Scene75 is the perfect way to let loose after a hearty, intimate meal, because there’s no pressure anymore. Now comes the fun!

Plus, Scene75 has something for everyone. They have Go Karting, an arcade, Laser Tag, Bumper Cars, and so much more. It’s the best way to burn off all those calories from dinner.

Unfortunately, we have some bad news. Those calories aren’t going to be gone long, because we still have to complete step 4…

Step 4: Ice Cream at Johnson’s

55 W Bridge St, Dublin, OH 43017

Let us reiterate. There is NO BETTER WAY to end a date than with ice cream, especially Johnson’s Real Ice Cream. They’ve been around since 1950 and have since expanded to several other locations, making it easy to find their creamy delights anywhere.

Plus, Johnson’s has Sherbet and Dairy-Free options as well if you or your date has any food allergies. What’s more romantic than inclusive dining, right?

So there you have it… the ultimate date night! Let us know if you end up following this itinerary (and if you did, be sure to invite us to the wedding).

Did one of these places close? Send us a note!
