Join us for a special Blues & Beyond Happening Hour as Lil’ Red & The Rooster welcome two giants of the Columbus music scene—Bobby Floyd on piano and Reggie Jackson on drums to celebrate their most recent collaboration. Their album 7 recorded in Columbus with Bobby Floyd represented Columbus Blues Alliance at the International Blues Challenge and won two Global Music Awards silver medals for album and creativity.
This is where deep-rooted Blues meets jazz-soaked swing, soul, and groove—played by some of the finest musicians in the city. Expect one of those once in lifetime musical moments and they the aim to leave you feeling good.
Lil’ Red & The Rooster
International Blues Challenge finalists, Lil’ Red & The Rooster are an international retro-modern blues duo blending deep-rooted Blues with jazz-soaked swing, soul, and groove. Featuring Lil’ Red’s unmistakable voice and award-winning French blues guitarist Pascal Fouquet, they regularly perform at Buddy Guy’s Legends and are known for songs that refuse to sound alike—each one its own mood, story, and groove—delivering a sassy, smokin’, slow-burn sound that soothes what’s aching and leaves you feelin’ good.
Bobby Floyd – piano
Grammy-nominated and Emmy Award–winning pianist Bobby Floyd is a Columbus legend whose career spans the globe. From Ray Charles to Dr. John and six years with the Count Basie Orchestra, his playing brings joy, fire, and unmistakable swing.
Reggie Jackson – drums
Reggie Jackson is one of Columbus’s most respected drummers, known for his deep groove, musical sensitivity, and effortless swing. His feel anchors the band while lifting every solo with taste, power, and soul.
