Taking their name from a lyric in John Prine’s song “Souvenirs,” the Dirty Windows is a collaboration among four accomplished Columbus area musicians who honor Prine’s music and help raise awareness and funds for the Society’s annual folk festival. Prine is widely recognized as one of the most influential songwriters of his generation and won four Grammy Awards out of 13 nominations, as well as a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award. The band formed in 2019 and is comprised of Ed Tatum, Renilda Marshall, Mike Hale, and Brian Szuch. They’ve played the Central Ohio Folk Festival as well as numerous concerts over the last six years, including shows at Three Oaks Vineyard, Nocterra Brewing, and The Beau Est Beau in Cheboygan, Michigan amongst others. A Dirty Windows show isn’t just a tribute concert. It’s a fresh and fun musical experience, with stories and context behind the songs, great playing and singing, and a shared energy between the performers and the audience. Come out for a great show and generous serving of John Prine!
