The Soul Sunday Series hosted by Debra James Tucker continues with the talented vocalist Gabrielle Solange and her fabulous Holiday show! Get ready to be transported into a winter wonderland of melody as Gabrielle brings the magic of the season to life.
A celebrated performer, sought-after vocal coach, Billboard charting recording artist, and TEDx speaker, Gabrielle is known for her dynamic vocal range and soul-stirring storytelling. This year, her original music was featured on Netflix’s hit show, “Love Is Blind,” and she was chosen by Mattel to voice an animated character for their American Girl Dolls, which was a dream come true. Outside of pursuing her dreams, she enjoys helping others do the same as a vocal coach and creative workshop facilitator in collaboration with schools, ministries, libraries, and non-profit organizations.
The unique sound of vocalist Debra James Tucker is a product of extensive training in jazz, classical and gospel music. Her new album is “Voices”, which continues her exploration of early black church forms in contemporary contexts. She is the writer/performer of the one woman show Survival of the Boulevard Singer-winner of an Ohio Arts Council Award for Individual Excellence, has been a visiting instructor at Denison University in the history of African American Gospel Music, and an artist in residence with several youth arts organizations.
