It’s been a while… anyone feel like jamming again? The answer was a resounding YES! So, here we are in 2025 and the original band is back together, 20 years after we first formed. Friendships remained. The time is right. The music is calling! Columbus-based quintet Jovial Flow, with their original brand of high-energy rock & roll jams, spread throughout Ohio in the mid 2000s, performing anywhere and everywhere, from college bars to large festivals. Legend Valley, Frontier Ranch, Hookahville, Nelson Ledges, Comfest, and Columbus Arts Fest all saw that white van pull up, load-in, and unleash the sound. Based on the deep songbook and soaring vocals of singer-songwriter/guitarist John Etzel, Jovial Flow’s sound evolved with the help of Scott Brubach’s melodic lead guitar, twin brothers Andy and Matt Bailey’s solid bass and drums, and Jonathan Barth’s colorful keys. After years of countless shows and a studio album (available on all digital platforms), they went their separate ways, pursuing other musical projects and family. John and Scott kept it going with new personnel all the way until 2014 before deciding to hang it up for good. But the seed was planted; the original lineup reunited for the Farewell + Reunion show, further solidifying their legacy, and paving the way for the future. The future is now.
