Hurling Habaneros is an Americana Roots band that jams. Our members have gigged with numerous Ohio groups for over 3 decades, building a shared vision and love for the music we play.
Recording artist John Hurlbut of The Swimmers and The Hurling Stones, manager of Fur Peace Ranch, and Rock Hall of Famer Jorma Kaukonen’s touring partner, plays guitar and handles lead vocals. Mark Allen (bass) and Blue Drew (guitar) are founding members of Local Color and The Mad Habaneros. Rockin’ Louis Schocken of Strangely Enough (and a healthy dose of other bands) drives the rhythms on cajon and percussion. Skott Brown of the Mighty Troubadours joins us on fiddle and mandolin. This eclectic mix of instrumentation and team chemistry makes for dynamic song interpretations and group improvisation.
Hurling Habaneros performances provide a full night of music, fun, and fellowship. Join us for our 4th annual Thanksgiving week show at Natalie’s. The forecast calls for high heat!
