Symphonic Band welcomes composer Will Healy, vocalist Hannah Zazzaro, and emcee Dizzy Senze to campus. All three are professional freelance musicians/artists and members of the New York City-based ensemble ShoutHouse. The performance, entitled “Artful Conversation,” explores the role of conversation in musical composition, performance, and in community. The performance features a premiere of the composition “Noctuary for Adé” by Healy, scored for winds, percussion, soprano vocalist, and emcee. Other composers include Giovanni Gabrieli, Viet Cuong, Dan Forrest, and Percy Aldridge Grainger as well as performances by Healy, Zazzaro, and Senze. A reception follows for audience and performers to continue the conversation.
