Head on down to Mardi Gras at Rumba Cafe, where Whirlybirds will feature a 4-piece horn section playing hot jazz classics and New Orleans standards all night long.
“The music we play started in New Orleans,” says Brenny, clarinet player for Whirlybirds, “it just makes sense to invite our friends for a jam.” The band draws its inspiration from current New Orleans bands such as the Preservation Hall Jazz Band and Tuba Skinny, as well as old-time favorites like Sydney Bechet and Pete Fountain.
