Welcome, fellow Work-From-Home Warriors, to the ultimate guide that will turn your remote grind into a delightfully caffeinated experience. I don’t know about you, but there’s just something about the smell of freshly brewed java that gives me the energy to send a long-overdue email to Kathleen from accounting about the expense report I submitted 3 weeks ago.
Whether you enjoy working in close proximity to tons of caffeine (you know, just in case you need a pick-me-up) or just enjoy the communal environment of working in a coffee shop, our list has you covered with great places to check out!
An added benefit is that you won’t have to use the fake-looking coffee shop virtual background on Zoom anymore!
Stauf’s Coffee Roasters
Could you imagine if we left Stauf’s off the list? Neither could we. Stauf’s has been serving up some of the best coffee in Columbus for years, and their selection of delicious breakfast and lunch foods only bolsters their spot as a favorite of us WFH Warriors. While there is plenty of seating, this spot is certainly popular so be sure to get there early enough to grab a seat.
Bada Bean Bada Booze
This cafe is perfect for the WFH Warrior who works hard and plays hard. Why? Bada Bean Bada Booze, as its name suggests, turns into a bar at 4 PM, so you can celebrate happy hour as soon as your routinely unproductive 3:30 meeting concludes! Nothing tastes quite as good as an ice cold beer after a few Americanos.
Global Gallery
3535 N High St, Columbus, OH 43214
If you’re all about the good vibes when looking for a WFH coffee shop, Global Gallery is going to check all the boxes. The coffee is fantastic, all while being surrounded by hundreds of different fair-trade art pieces available for purchase that were created by over 1,500 artists worldwide. Even if you don’t buy anything, the vibe from all of the creativity that surrounds you will surely rub off on you during your brainstorming meetings.
Grandview Grind
1423 Grandview Ave, Columbus, OH 43212
Given it’s cozy atmosphere, locally roasted java, and delicious baked goods, there’s a reason this spot has such loyal customers. If you haven’t stopped in here yet, it certainly will not disappoint. I’m a smoothie guy myself and I really dug their frozen beverage selection. Seating can be difficult to come by here, so arrive early!
The Roosevelt Coffeehouse
“Yeah, I’ll take my coffee black with a side of justice, please!” That’s what I feel like saying whenever I grind my days out at The Roosevelt Coffeehouse. Profits from each purchase go towards fighting against unclean water, hunger, and human trafficking. I also recently had a latte that blew my socks clean off of my body at Roosevelt, so take that as you wish. Working from here is relaxing and enjoyable, always.
One Line Coffee
With a commitment to serving coffee that is locally sourced and roasted, it’s impossible to have a bad cup of Joe here. They are committed to forging relationships with their farmers, workers, and customers to ensure maximum quality, flavor, and sustainability, which is pretty much everything I could ever want in a coffee shop. Oh, and extremely delicious coffee. Lucky for you, they have that, too.
Qamaria Yemeni Coffee Co.
3221 Hilliard Rome Rd, Hilliard, OH 43026
If you’ve never had Yemeni coffee before, you are in for an absolute treat. Some people even say that Yemeni coffee increases the quality of work they do every time they work from a Yemeni coffee shop (It’s me, I’m some people). Qamaria truly has a unique vibe that you won’t find anywhere else in the city, along with Middle Eastern baked goods that will leave your mouth watering and your belly full.
Crimson Cup Coffee Shop
There are so many reasons to love Crimson Cup. Whether it’s the freaky fast Wi-Fi or the super unique single-origin craft coffees they brew by the cup, I always love my days spent at this coffee shop. As an iced/frozen beverages guy myself, the frozen coffee options they have here are top-tier. You can truly feel the love they put into each (Crimson) cup.
Maudine’s
77 Belle St, Columbus, OH 43215
It almost feels like Maudine’s was built for us WFH Warriors. With fast Wi-Fi, tons of outlets, a chill vibe, and lots of space, there’s not a lot more you could ask for in a good WFH spot. What’s that? You want great coffee, pastries, and cool baristas too? Well today is your lucky day, because that’s Maudine’s claim to fame! They make their syrups in house too, so I would highly recommend something like an Iced Vanilla Latte before your 2 o’clock meeting.
Java Central Café and Roaster
20 S State St Suite B, Westerville, OH 43081
If variety is the spice of life, Java Central Café and Roaster is the perfect place to spice up your WFH routine. With multiple rooms offering different vibes—whether you need a cozy lounge, a dimly lit space with a stage and upright piano, or a well-lit area adorned with paintings—this spot has got you covered. And did I mention the coffee is top-notch? A delicious brew and the perfect atmosphere to get those creative juices flowing.
Espresso Air Coffee Terminal
25 N State St, Westerville, OH 43081
Directly across the street from Java Central, Espresso Air Coffee Terminal offers a more intimate vibe that’s just right for a focused work session. This cozy spot might be smaller, but it packs a punch with its divine coffee that will keep you fueled up and ready to tackle your to-do list. It’s perfect for those who prefer a quieter, more personal space to get things done. Plus, the Turkish bagels and baklava are INSANE.
Mission Coffee Co.
11 Price Ave, Columbus, OH 43201
Mission Coffee Co. is back, baby! They’ve returned to their roots at 11 Price Avenue, and it’s a homecoming we’re all here for. Known as one of Columbus’s favorite specialty coffee roasters, Mission Coffee’s original space has been revived and is just as inviting as ever. It’s the perfect place to grab a cup of their expertly roasted coffee and settle in for a productive day—WFH style.
