We get it, you like to shop. There’s nothing to be ashamed of… we fully believe in the merits of retail therapy!
One of the benefits of living in Central Ohio is that you’re no more than a 20 minute drive from incredible shopping destinations, each with their own unique flair and style.
Looking for major brand names all in one place? Head to Easton. Want to support local small businesses? Uptown Westerville is the spot.
No matter what you’re looking for, if you like swiping your credit card, these are the best and most walkable places to do so.
The Short North Arts District
Sprawling down N. High Street between downtown Columbus and the University District sits one of the best areas for retail therapy in Central Ohio, the Short North. You can find just about anything and everything you’re looking for. Turkish antique stores, art galleries… heck, even The Lamp Shade has, you guessed it, some of the coolest lamp shades I’ve ever seen! It’s extremely walkable and super lively. Your credit card will have a blast.

Easton Town Center
Quite literally a neighborhood designed around the shopping experience, Easton Town Center has basically every major brand represented within its confines. From Nordstrom to Urban Outfitters, Oakley to Sunglass Hut, and even Gucci to Lego, this is the premier one-stop shop. Parking is convenient, the entire place is super walkable, and if you get tired from so much swiping, there are tons of great restaurants ready to satiate you (i.e. getting drunk while on a shopping trip is awesome, just bring a D.D.).

Clintonville
Just a hop, skip, and a jump north of the Short North, Clintonville is like a more residential and laid back version of the Short North. Plenty of awesome restaurants, antique stores, coffee shops, and art galleries line High Street. For what it’s worth, we think Clintonville’s claim to fame is its great thrifting scene (RIP Rag-O-Rama). Check it out, along with their farmers’ market on Saturday mornings from April 27 – November 23.

Old Worthington
Want another walkable shopping destination on N High Street? Ask and you shall receive! Old Worthington and the Worthington Square are not only super quaint and charming, the shopping scene is also great. While it doesn’t offer the sheer volume of shops as Clintonville or the Short North, Old Worthington is more of an experiential and calm shopping experience. They also have a farmers’ market on Saturdays year-round, which are not to be missed!

Grandview Heights
Located on N High S– just kidding. Grandview Heights’ shopping destination is located on the aptly named Grandview Avenue. While slightly more metropolitan-feeling, Grandview Heights has a similar energy to Old Worthington, with small shops and restaurants concentrated on a short strip. It’s always a great day when you find yourself in Grandview.

German Village
Quite possibly the most charming and beautiful of any neighborhood on this list, German Village has it all. Shops are scattered all through the neighborhood, which makes it a fun little game to see what you stumble upon. Walking through the neighborhood is so relaxing with the brick houses and tree-lined brick streets. It’s so cute, you might even forget that you went there to shop!

Uptown Westerville
Uptown Westerville gives off the classic “small town Ohio” vibe while nestling in just northeast of Columbus. 90% of the shops and restaurants in Uptown Westerville are family-owned spots, making this the perfect destination for a truly unique shopping experience while supporting small businesses.
