Before we get into this, here’s a brief history lesson about German Village to give you some backstory: German Village is one of the most historic neighborhoods in Columbus. We know it as German Village in present day due to the fact that it was once a hot spot for German immigrants back in the 1800s. It was originally referred to as the “Old South End,” and later became more widely known as German Village that we know and love today.

Alright, now that you know some basic history – let’s talk about how to spend an ideal day in German Village. German Village is an attraction for many reasons, but one thing that sets it apart from any other neighborhood in Columbus is its uncanny resemblance to a European village that is straight out of a storybook. From the food, to the brick-lined streets and architecture, German Village is a real hoot. Here’s some iconic places you should visit while checking it out!
