No, they’re not closing for good. Yes, you can still go get a cookie.
Buuuuuut it’s going to look a little different.
Lion Cub’s Cookies, the beloved (and ridiculously delicious) Columbus cookie shop known for their thick, gooey, and indulgent cookies, is doing something a little a LOT different this weekend.
Instead of slinging cookies from their original Grandview storefront (1261 Grandview Ave, Grandview Heights, OH 43212) or their newest location that opened in Worthington early last year (7105 N High St, Worthington, OH 43085), they’re hitting pause on normal operations for a cause that’s bigger than their cookies.

Okay… What’s Going On?
On Saturday, June 7th, Lion Cub’s Cookies is closing their stores for the day and encouraging customers to visit them at Ohio Living Westminster-Thurber (717 Neil Ave, Columbus, OH 43215) from 9 AM to 4 PM.
Why?
Because cookies can bring people together… And this time, they’re bringing them to a place that could really use the company.
This event is part of a growing movement to destigmatize loneliness, especially among older adults. And instead of just posting about it or donating behind the scenes, Lion Cub’s Cookies is inviting their fans to show up, connect, and make a real difference, one conversation (and one cookie) at a time.

Behind Lion Cub’s Cookies
If you’ve had Lion Cub’s before, you already know they’re some of the best cookies in Columbus (take one bite of their Cookies ‘N Cream or their Chocolate Peanut Butter cookie and tell us they’re not INSANELY good).
There’s so much passion behind every flavor, and owner Bradley Kaplan is a master at giving customers a peek behind the curtain of his delicious process on their social media.
But seeing Lion Cub’s put that same care and creativity into raising awareness for an issue seemingly no one talks about like senior loneliness? That makes the cookies taste even sweeter.
Seriously… how could you not love them?!
So cancel your Saturday plans (unless they already involved eating way too many cookies and chatting with a retirement home resident), stop by Ohio Living Westminster-Thurber, and strike up a conversation with someone who might really need it. You’ll probably walk away with a new friend and a full belly, and they’ll walk away with a memory that they’ll never forget.
