We finally made it over to Hiraeth for some stellar mezzes, steak, and drinks. There’s truly nothing quite like it in Columbus! Having recently opened up their doors for business in August of 2023, they’ve already made an impact in the Short North. Hiraeth is the spot in Columbus for a moody, exciting ambience and a luxury dining experience that leaves you wanting more. They’re committed to providing an unforgettable and unique experience at Hiraeth, and we can confidently attest to that.
We’re going to be bold, but we enjoyed some of the best steak we’ve ever had at Hiraeth this week and can hardly wait to go back. Hiraeth is the type of restaurant that keeps you on your toes. The top floor’s interior style is bright, airy, and expressive while the lower level is moody, intimate, and exciting.
Their menu features globally-inspired dishes like Naan and Dips, Squash & Beef Bacon Cavatelli, Lobster Chowder Gratin, Lamb Merguez and more. For Mezzes (or small plates) we ordered the Naan and Dips which were killer, as well as their Yakatori Lemongrass Pork. Everything from the presentation to the flavors were top-tier, for lack of better words.
We also tried out their 12oz Grilled NY Strip which was grilled to perfection, and a side of Beef Fat Potatoes to accompany the steak. The steak sat on a generous layer of a creamy, gravy-like mustard sauce and it was sublime. The serving of potatoes was sizable and came with with chimichurri, crème fraîche and trout roe. The trout roe was a surprise, but it added a pop of flavor that we won’t forget. Truly a flavor combination we’ve never experienced before.
Hiraeth would be a great spot to take a date, or even to enjoy an adventurous solo night out. If you’re itching to try something new and want a unique experience, look no further.
