As Columbusites, we’ve all known about the magic of Columbus-style pizza for decades. But finally, the rest of the country is catching on that our pizza is, simply put, better than yours.
A recent New York Post article highlighted Columbus-style pizza as a “surprising contender” that’s beating out heavyweights like New York and Chicago and gaining fans fast. While that might be shocking to the rest of the country… it’s simply validation for those of us who have been eating it our entire lives.

Columbus Has Always Been a Pizza Town
We’re such a great pizza town, and there are a lot of classic spots to thank for our prowess in the pizza game.
Everyone knows Donato’s and Massey’s, but the list certainly doesn’t start (or end) there.
TAT Ristorante Di Famiglia is credited for bringing pizza to Columbus back in 1929, and since then, countless classic spots have gained a cult-like following.
Terita’s, Rubino’s, Granddad’s, Tommy’s, Emelio’s… the list is looooong, and each spot does their version a little differently.
Some lean crispier, some go heavier on toppings, some tweak the sauce… but they all stick to the same core identity that makes Columbus-style pizza what it is.
So while New York and Chicago argue about slices and deep dish, Columbus has the perfect pizza that’s built for sharing, built for consistency, and built to be really, really f****** good.
