If you’ve driven down 5th Avenue in the Grandview Heights neighborhood of Columbus, there’s a good chance you’ve seen Paul’s Fifth Avenue. And if you’re wise enough, you even ended up eating there a handful of times.
But come July 7th, Paul’s will be closing their doors for good, as owner Paul Panzera will be moving onto new adventures.
Paul’s Fifth Avenue opened in 1966 and quickly became a go-to spot for Columbus foodies looking for a good sandwich or some delicious diner food including myself, as I lived in Grandview about a quarter mile away from Paul’s for a year after graduating from Ohio State.

Over the course of their 58 year life on Fifth Avenue, they estimate that they have served over 7 million meals to the Columbus community, which is truly mind blowing when you think about all the people who were touched by this quaint little eatery.
Whether you are a regular at Paul’s or have never made it over there, we highly recommend you stop by one more time to soak in a legendary spot one last time. You can thank us later for the recommendation.

Thank you, Paul, and the rest of the staff and regulars who made this place feel so welcoming. We’ll miss you!
