If you’ve ever thought, “Wow, I love this cocktail, but what this experience is missing is a walk-in beer fridge with a Persian rug and a globe,” congratulations: you just described The Bottle Shop. It’s not just a neighborhood cocktail bar and bottle shop, folks. It’s a full-blown fever dream where the cocktails go down smooth and the wine selection is superb.

Located in Victorian Village, The Bottle Shop is owned by actual sommeliers (so yes, they know what they’re doing) and filled with eclectic vibes, experimental cocktails, and some of the weirdest bathrooms I’ve ever had the pleasure of loitering in.

Let me explain.

A Beer Fridge with a Chair, a Globe, and My Eternal Gratitude

You ever walk somewhere in 95-degree heat and stumble into a beer fridge that not only saves your life with its air conditioning, but also has a chair inside it? And a rug? And a globe?? That was my introduction to The Bottle Shop, and I’ve never felt more seen.

It’s not just a fridge. It’s a vibe. And it’s stocked with rare imported beers from places like Japan and Germany, so you can feel fancy while also wondering if you’ve accidentally walked into your Great Uncle Wally’s curated beer collection (speaking from personal experience).

The Bathrooms Alone Deserve a Standing Ovation

I truly cannot overstate this. The bathrooms are an experience. One wall is a literal shrine to housecats. Like framed portraits, candles, the works. The adjacent wall? A shrine to Jesus Christ himself. I’m not even kidding. I spent an uncomfortable amount of time in there for someone who didn’t even have to go to the bathroom because I just couldn’t get enough of the vibe.

It’s hilarious. It’s weird. And somehow… it just works?

But this place isn’t just about bangin’ bathrooms and globe-laden beer fridges. The Bottle Shop also serves up some incredible cocktails that are perfect for a relaxing night on their patio.

They’re always rotating their seasonal cocktail menu, experimenting with small-batch spirits, house-made syrups, wines, and other things I pretend to understand. It’s fun, it’s inventive, and most importantly, it’s delicious.

Let me paint you a picture:

  • Scotch y Coco Chanel – This one tastes like the leftover milk after you house a bowl of Fruity Pebbles, but make it refreshing and boozy. I’m not exaggerating. It’s wild and wonderful and will 100% sneak up on you.
  • Espresso Martini on Draft – One sip and you get why these have taken over the world. It’s smooth, creamy, and the coffee flavor is crisp and fresh. Not like that sad Folgers-and-vodka situation most places try to pass off as an espresso martini. This is the real deal.
  • Strava Cream – My personal favorite. It’s low-proof and tastes like a fairytale in the summertime. We’re talking rosé, strawberry, vanilla, and tonic, all mixed together in a way that makes you want to sip it on a beach while someone feeds you grapes. Dreamy.

The Cocktail Names? Impeccable.

Cocktail bars that have fun with their naming conventions are automatically better. Science says so. The Bottle Shop delivers with gems like:

  • Matcha Do About Nothing
  • T-Swift’s French Blonde
  • Thrilla in Manila
  • Peach Emoji (very cheeky, indeed)

I love when a bar has fun with their menu instead of just listing off different spirits I’ve never heard of before, and The Bottle Shop does it better than most.

Their Wine Selection Is Insanely Good (And Not Insanely Expensive)

While I was there, the staff (most of whom are sommeliers, by the way) were doing wine tastings with some wine reps, and I just stood there quietly eavesdropping like a little wine goblin.

They were telling stories about how certain vineyards have rough 2nd or 3rd years (I forget which) and how it shows up in the wine’s flavor. It was so interesting, and made me realize how much they actually know their stuff. They aren’t just buying wine on a whim, folks. They stand behind each purchase.

And even though they’re experts, the vibe never feels pretentious. They purposely pick out wines that are more affordable but still super high quality. A lot of their selection is just $20, and they even run “intentionally deflated pricing” on some bottles they love just to make them more accessible. Like I said, I trust their palate implicitly.

Wanna Be in the Cool Kids Club? Join their Wine & Beer Club.

The Bottle Shop also runs a Wine Club & Beer Club, and honestly, it’s a steal. Here’s what you get in the wine club:

  • Two curated bottles of wine each month
  • Your choice of Topo Chico or Liquid Death (hydration matters)
  • Tasting notes and food pairing suggestions
  • Free tastings on pickup day
  • 20% off wine classes
  • Other fun perks

And in the beer club:

  • 12 beers curated from around the world
  • Free beer tasting on pickup day
  • First access to limited allocated beers

It’s like having a sommelier best friend who shows up once a month with presents.

Final Thoughts

The Bottle Shop isn’t just a place to grab a drink — it’s a place to have an experience. Whether you’re sipping rare beers in a globe-filled fridge, watching a silent movie above the bar, or trying to figure out how cats and Christ himself ended up in the same bathroom shrine, it’s a spot that oozes personality, quality, and good vibes.

If you’ve somehow never been, this is your sign to go. Order something weird. Sit in the fridge. Linger in the bathroom. Trust me… you’ll get it once you’re there.
