If you’re a pastry-for-breakfast type of person, you’re gonna want to listen up!
The sweet aroma of one of Columbus’ most prized bakeries is about to waft through the air in Gahanna. That’s right… for the first time ever, there will be a SECOND Resch’s Bakery location.
I’ll be real honest with ya… I am literally jumping out of my shoes in excitement.
The new location will be taking over 150 N. Hamilton Road, and if you take a deep inhale when walking by the area right now, I swear you can already smell their world-famous pączki and donuts.
If you haven’t allowed yourself to experience the magic of Resch’s yet, let us fill you in on a few details.
Since 1912, Resch’s Bakery has been the go-to spot for Columbus locals craving the best donuts, cakes, pretzels, pies, and all things pastry. Now, they’re sharing the love (and the calories) with a second spot, turning Gahanna into a certified sweet tooth paradise, and positioning itself to contend for the best bakery in Gahanna.
There were rumors swirling that the current (and dare we say, iconic) location would be closing its doors in favor of the new spot, which would have RUINED us. But thankfully we are able to put those rumors to bed once and for all.
The OG bakery isn’t going anywhere.
It’s just getting a shiny new sibling that will handle the heavy lifting as the main production hub. So, your favorite treats aren’t just sticking around; they’re about to multiply.
Gahanna’s newest bakery will have all the fan favorites from Livingston Ave. and even some new goodies added to the menu to cater to the new neighborhood.
While there’s no official opening date yet, they are hoping to have the new bakery up and running by Easter (and hopefully in time for Fat Tuesday…).
Word on the street is that dentists in Gahanna are jumping for joy and are gearing up for a boom in business – because sweet treats do come with a price, after all!
So, whether you’re a longtime fan or a soon-to-be convert, the east side is about to get a whole lot tastier with a brand new Resch’s Bakery in Gahanna.
