Rocky Fork Metro Park

Hanby House

160 W Main St, Westerville, OH 43081

Step back in time at Hanby House, a gem recognized by the National Park Service as a key Underground Railroad site. This historic home belonged to Bishop William Hanby, an abolitionist and co-founder of Otterbein University, who played a crucial role in the Underground Railroad. At Hanby House, you can explore five rooms filled with mid- to late-1800s antiques, and you can even discover the Hanby’s connections to aviation, Africa, and even the Titanic! Hanby House is a must-see for history buffs and is a great insight into the history of Westerville.
