Working on a comic strip, minicomic, zine, visual essay, or graphic novel? Bring your work, finished or in progress, for supportive, constructive feedback from fellow cartoonists and enthusiasts. Every other month, we gather to share pages, ideas, and creative challenges in a welcoming environment.
This is a community space to swap tips, talk shop, and support each other’s projects.
How It Works
- Sign up for a critique slot upon arrival. A sign-up sheet will determine the order of presenters.
- Each participant will have 15–20 minutes to read and receive feedback.
- Be prepared to read your work aloud (you may ask for volunteers).
- Feedback can focus on specific questions or broader topics like: What’s working? What’s not?
What to Bring
Finished or in-progress work is welcome.
- One project only, up to 15 pages. Examples include but are not limited to:
- A comic strip
- A minicomic
- 1–15 pages of a complete or larger comic
- A webcomic or social media comic
- Attach your work as a PDF on the registration form or email a PDF to richardson.1406@osu.edu by noon on the day of critique night for printing. Otherwise, bring 15 copies of your work with you unless you plan on using our projector screen.
Registration
- Registration is mandatory
- Limited seats: 15 participants max. First-come, first-served.
- If you’re among the first 15 to register, you’ll receive a confirmation email a few days before critique night. If spots are full, you’ll be placed on a wait-list and contacted if space opens.
Other Details
- We’ll have light snacks!
- The session runs until 8 PM or until everyone has presented.
- This is a welcoming space for creative growth—feel free to share suggestions or ideas!
