PAINTING WITH WAX!
Encaustic Painting Course: From Design Fundamentals to Personal Style Course Overview
This course introduces encaustic painting through the fundamentals of design, guiding students from structured exercises to expressive work, including optional mixed media. Through constraint, repetition, and reflection, students will build technical skills while developing a personal visual language. Building on these foundations, students will explore core design elements—value, color, line, shape, texture, and space—while investigating color, value, and transparency to create depth and mood. Additional focus is placed on surface and texture, mark-making, and thoughtful composition with mixed media integration, all working together toward developing a personal visual language. By the end of the course, students will have a clearer understanding of their own creative instincts and a body of work that reflects thoughtful choices, consistent exploration, and a growing confidence in developing a personal visual language.
