Lexi’s on Third sits right across from the Ohio Statehouse, and somehow, almost no one outside of downtown knows it exists.
It’s one of those spots that the working crowd downtown swears by. But if you don’t work nearby, there’s a very good chance you’ve never even heard of it. But don’t blame yourself. They’re only open on weekdays for breakfast and lunch. Limited hours. No frills. Just really, really good food.
But it’s MORE THAN WORTH planning your day around (and maybe even playing hooky from work for).
The Sandwich That Should Probably Come With a Warning
The craziest thing on their menu is their Jawbreaker Corned Beef or their Reuben.
And I’m not saying this lightly… these sandwiches put Slyman’s in Cleveland on notice.
If you don’t know Slyman’s, it’s one of the most beloved spots in Cleveland. Right up there with LeBron James and Jose Ramirez. Their corned beef is piled about as high as the tallest mountain in Columbus, which is VERY high for a sandwich!
Well… Lexi’s might have them beat.
Which is a tough thing to admit for someone who grew up on Slyman’s and never thought he’d see a bigger sandwich.

It’s Not Just Big… It’s Actually That Good
Not only is it absolutely GIGANTIC, it’s phenomenal corned beef. Sliced thin, you almost expect corned beef to be dry. That’s how it is virtually everywhere else.
But not at Lexi’s.
Stacked high with sauerkraut and 1000 Island on toasted rye, this corned beef is juicy and loaded with flavor.
But the menu doesn’t stop there. They have a macaroni salad that will make you rethink everything you knew about oft-overlooked side dishes. Their macaroni salad is LIGHTS OUT.
Loaded with fresh veggies, pepper, and a creamy base, it tastes almost nothing like your regular, gross, storebought macaroni salad.
Part of what makes Lexi’s so good is that they feature a lot of favorites from the legendary downtown deli, Danny’s Delicious Deli. So it makes perfect sense why they’re so good at what they do.

The Bottom Line
Lexi’s on Third is one of those places that feels like it’s hiding in plain sight. It’s literally right across the street from the Statehouse. It doesn’t get more Central than that.
