That distinct moment of biting into a Woodhouse Vegan cinnamon roll or homemade Girl Scout Samoan bar and thinking “how the hell is this deliciousness completely vegan” is about to be a distant memory.
The fan-favorite vegan restaurant, Woodhouse Vegan, announced their decision to close their Short North restaurant, the last remaining iteration of Woodhouse Vegan as we know it.
The woman-owned vegan joint had humble beginnings, operating out of Oddfellows in the Short North, before securing a spot in Italian Village in 2019. That location lasted until 2023, when they decided to shift their focus to the current Short North location on Russell Street, which opened in 2022.
Now, just four years later, Woodhouse Vegan’s future is uncertain, as they aim to close up shop this summer.

That means just a few more months of their incredible pastries and hot lunches, which became a staple over the years for vegans and carnivores alike.
In their social media announcement, they made reference to the fact that they aren’t going away entirely, but instead entering a new chapter.
If you want to support this local business before they close, you can (and should) check them out at the location below!
