Introducing the tastiest Ohio roadtrip you’ve probably never heard of… The Butler County Donut Trail is a nationally recognized self-guided tour of some of the best donut shops in the state of Ohio, all conveniently located in Butler County.

Why Butler County? Oddly enough, Butler County has one of the highest concentrations of donut shops per capita in the Midwest!

And no, it’s not just some made up, fun thing to keep you busy. It’s a legitimate activity that comes with an official Butler County Donut Trail Passport. If you can patronize at least 12 of the 14 donut shops on the passport, not only do you win bragging rights (and some intestinal bloating), but you will also receive an official Butler County Donut Trail T-Shirt!

Here’s everything you need to know.

A Guide to The Butler County Donut Trail in Ohio

Where the Butler County Donut Trail Takes You

The trail weaves and winds through West Chester, Middletown, Hamilton, and even Oxford, Ohio, so you could hypothetically eat a donut and then go to beat the clock with all the Miami University students. Or better yet, grab a dozen and just bring them to Brick Street. You’ll feel a sense of popularity and love that you didn’t even know existed.

While there’s no time limit requirement to complete the donut trail, anecdotally, the time to beat is 4 hours. That’s pretty doable if you skip the 2 repeats on the passport (there are two Milton’s Donuts and Ross Bakery locations on the passport).

Plan Your Route (Or Let Someone Else Do It)

If you’re worried about designing the optimal donut trail experience, fret no more. Amazingly, the Butler County Donut Trail has a DONUT TRAIL CONCIERGE, an expert who is seasoned at providing you with the perfect route that best fits your needs and desires.

Just call them anytime between 8:30 AM and 5 PM on weekdays at (513) 860-0917.

Pro tip? The best time to start the Butler County Donut Trail is before 7 AM. This is your best bet if you want to knock out the passport in one day. If you start too late, one of the shops may sell out or close before you can get to it, and nobody wants that!
