The Moment is an alt-funk pop rock band. Rob Maupin and Chris DeBoard met each
other musically while playing together in a cover band in 2015, and then began writing some songs together shortly after. Chris and Rob began collaboratively writing songs together for next several years. Chris being a singer/drummer and Rob being a guitarist. Both of whom had played in various bands around Columbus. Once they had a cache of songs, they ended up tracking with Eric Jones at Steezo Sound, who coincidentally is the senior sound engineer at Woodland’s Tavern. As they tracked over the course of several years, they also employed several studio musicians to round out the band. Fortunately, through their community of musician friends, they were introduced to Bryan Bair and Shawn Short. Bryan Bair, who had known Chris and Rob through cover bands for years, committed to joining the band. Bryan is an accomplished rhythm guitarist whohas mastered a catalog of songs of which anyone would be impressed. Shawn Shortwas introduced to Chris by an accomplished musician, Todd Clemmer, who Chris had been playing with in his garage for years. After having gigged with Shawn at Woodland’s for his own show, he suggested that Chris get in touch with him as a valuable addition to The Moment.
