Old Worthington is like the ultimate slice of old-school Americana tucked away just 15 minutes north of Downtown Columbus.
The cute downtown area is full of Mom and Pop shops, lots of green space, benches, and is within close proximity to tons of parks and walking trails!
It’s even home to one of the consistently highest ranking Farmers Markets in the U.S.!
Whether you’re a Worthington resident or not, this guide to Old Worthington is truly a Columbus bucket list item.
1st Stop: Kitties Worthington
693 High St, Worthington, Ohio 43085
Starting the day at Kitties is the ultimate omen that you’re in for a great time. They specialize in pastries and cakes that pair super well with their delicious coffee. The interior is extremely cozy and inviting… it just gives off such strong Hallmark-movie-quality small town vibes in the best way possible, even though the square is usually hoppin’! Plus, they just expanded, so there’s lots of room to soak it all up. Take in the sights, sounds, smells, and flavors quickly, though, because we have a big day ahead of us as we head to…

2nd Stop: Joya’s
657 High St, Worthington, OH 43085
Headed by Columbus-native and Top Chef alum Avishar Barua, Joya’s is one of the best breakfast/brunch spots you’ll find anywhere. Don’t believe us? That’s fine! We don’t mind the shorter lines (jk, we love when the line is out the door because they deserve every bit of love they get). The Joya’s Breakfast Sandwich Bobby’s Way is the staple here, but you couldn’t choose wrong even if you just hung the menu up on a dart board, blindfolded yourself, and threw a dart to see what you’ll be eating (just make sure any animals or children are at least 150 feet away). Everything here is good. Everything.

3rd Stop (only on Saturdays 8 AM – Noon): Worthington Farmer’s Market
What’s so special about a farmers market? Well, aside from farmers markets being awesome ways to support local businesses and finding unique foods and art, the Worthington Farmer’s Market is consistently voted as one of the best farmers markets in the nation by USA Today! Nearly 100 vendors show up for the occasion every week along with thousands of customers. Peppered with a bit of live music here and there, the farmers market really shows off the charm of Old Worthington better than anything else.

Stop 4: Porch Growler
890 High St Suite C, Worthington, OH 43085
What better way to wind down from all that shopping and eating than some ice cold adult beverages at the Porch Growler? This concept is super cool, as you can bring in your own growler or purchase your own from the bar, and then they serve all of your beer in that! You can also bring in your own food or order food from Pizza Primo across the street. There’s even a neat little patio out front as well that is perfect for a warm summer evening if that tickles your fancy!

Stop 5: Mrs. Goodman’s Baking Co.
901 N High St, Worthington, OH 43085
What good is an old-fashioned downtown area without a deliciously cute bakery? Mrs. Goodman’s specializes in custom cakes for literally any occasion, but their true magic is unlocked when you decide to walk in on a whim and pick out a couple (or couple dozen) cookies, scones, cinnamon rolls, and cream pies. This has become a tradition for my family… It’s rare to find us anywhere else but Mrs. Goodman’s on a Saturday morning!
