Artisan Pizza Cafe has been on a roller coaster that no small business owner ever asks to ride. One day they’re quietly making great pizza. The next day Dave Portnoy drops a One Bite review, it goes viral, and suddenly the entire city decides they need a slice like their life depends on it.
Great problem to have… right?
Yeah, until the oven decides it’s had enough.
The Worst Possible Timing…
Right after the review blew up, the shop’s oven started acting up. And not in a “call the repair guy and hope for the best” way. It basically said “I’m done here” and tapped out. We covered that first disaster already, but now it’s official. The oven is gone. It has moved on. It is currently in oven heaven.
With no way to make pizza, owner Jasmin had to make the incredibly tough call to close the business.
Well, at least for now.

Enter Dave Portnoy… Yes, Seriously
I know. Ohio State fans are already making faces. But Dave actually came through here in a big way.
Before the review even dropped, he checked in with Jasmin to make sure she was prepared for the chaos that was about to hit. And after the oven officially died, Jasmin reached out again. Dave didn’t just say “good luck.” He bought her a brand new oven so she can get the shop back open.
The oven is on the way. Once it’s installed and everything is working again, their doors will be open again, and we’ll be able to get our hands on some of the best pizza in the city once again.

You Aren’t Ready For This Pie 🍕
Her pizza is ridiculous. Like, truly next-level. It’s crispy, thin, and loaded with fresh ingredients that you can tell have never sniffed the inside of a can or tango’d with a preservative. Owner Jasmin has that special talent where you take one bite and immediately regret every mediocre slice you’ve eaten in your life.
So yes, Artisan Pizza Cafe is temporarily closed. But this comeback is going to be worth the wait. We’ll keep you posted the second we hear an official reopening date.
For now, just know this: a broken oven didn’t end Artisan Pizza Cafe. It just set up one of the best comeback stories in Columbus food history.
