Stop scratching your eyes. You read that headline correctly.

This Saturday, August 31, the World Naked Bike Ride (WNBR) is back, and it’s time to let it all hang out—literally. If you’ve ever dreamed of cycling through the streets in your birthday suit (or maybe just in your favorite undies), this is your moment to shine, shimmer, and maybe even sweat a little.

The ride kicks off at 7 p.m., with riders gathering around 6 p.m. somewhere in the vicinity of the Short North. The exact location? Well, that’s still a bit of a mystery—it’s being kept under wraps (pun totally intended). The WNBR Columbus 2024 Facebook page will have all the details, so be sure to check that out here.

But rest assured, wherever the starting point, it’s bound to be a spectacle that’s as unpredictable as, well, deciding what (or what not) to wear on a Saturday night.

Why Ride Bare? It’s Not Just for the Thrill!

Now, if you have even a semblance of curiosity in your brain, you are probably very confused as to why people want to do this.

Besides the obvious thrill of feeling the wind in places the wind usually doesn’t reach, the World Naked Bike Ride is all about celebrating the power of bikes, body positivity, and our collective freedom from the clutches of fossil fuels. It’s a protest ride with a playful twist—a chance to say no to air-polluting fuels and yes to embracing our natural beauty, one pedal stroke at a time.

And with temperatures forecasted to hit the mid-80s, some riders are expected to go as bare as they dare. Whether you decide to roll out in body paint, a whimsical costume, or nothing but a smile, the only rule is to ride with confidence (and maybe keep a little something on hand, just in case).

After all, full frontal nudity is at your own risk— cuz, ya know, legal restrictions and all that jazz.

The After-Party: More Than Just a Cool Down

Once the ride wraps up, the fun doesn’t stop. An outdoor after-party will keep the vibe going until 11 p.m. Expect a mix of music, mingling, and maybe some moonlight dancing (clothes probably still optional, we assume). It’s the perfect way to celebrate a ride well done and connect with fellow free spirits who share your passion for pedal power and body positivity.

So, mark your calendars, Columbus, and get ready for a ride that’s sure to turn heads and raise eyebrows. Whether you’re baring it all or just baring a little, the World Naked Bike Ride promises a night of unforgettable fun and freedom.
