Also known as Jubilee Day, Emancipation Day, Freedom Day, or Black Independence Day, Juneteenth is the celebration of the end of slavery on June 19th, 1866.

Juneteenth is one of the most pivotal and important dates in our country’s history, which is why it’s so important to spotlight it every year with a guide to all the Juneteenth events happening in Central Ohio.

As you look through these events, you’ll notice there is not one “correct” way to acknowledge the importance of the day. Instead, you’ll find educational and cultural events mixed in with celebrations and parties.

However you choose to recognize Juneteenth, we hope it is a great reminder of how far we’ve come and how we always should be pushing for equality in our communities.

With that in mind, here is the ultimate guide to Juneteenth events happening in Central Ohio.
