Ride along with Desiree Wood and her community of long-haul women drivers as they take on an industry that demands power and profits over safety and security.

After losing everything, Desiree Wood gets a second lease on life as a long-haul truck driver. Using an intimate and immersive approach, DRIVER captures Wood’s experience within a system that routinely promises and denies workers their safety and autonomy. Alongside an irreverent group of women truckers, Wood struggles to balance the demands of the job with her ambitions as the founder of labor organization REAL Women in Trucking. In a rapidly disappearing American labor landscape, Wood and her sisterhood of truckers are fueled by a gallows humor and fiery outrage as they rally against the crushing forces of an industry that is indifferent to their survival. (90 mins., DCP)
