This year, Columbus has welcomed various new restaurants to its streets and neighborhoods and we’re here to highlight the ones that really stood out. These restaurants really hit it out of the park when it comes to their menu, drinks, ambience, and service!

In full transparency, we haven’t made it over to every single one of these restaurants yet – but we do pay close attention to what all of you have to say about them! That said, let’s get into it.

Here are 6 of the best new restaurants to hit Columbus in 2023:

Stories On High

404 N High St, Columbus, OH 43215

In 2023, Columbus’ tallest rooftop bar hit the food and beverage scene. Stories On High has already made a name for itself, offering 360° views of the jaw-dropping Columbus skyline. One of the coolest details about Stories On High is their curated menu which is filled with purposeful items that each have a story of their own (hence the name). With a cocktail-forward drink menu and Japanese-inspired dishes to accompany 28-story high views, Stories On High has truly hit it out of the park. With rave reviews like, “The food was the best I’ve had since moving to Columbus,” and “Wow, wow! This is my new favorite in town,” we think it’s safe to say that Stories On High ranks high up on the list of best new restaurants.

Hiraeth

36 E Lincoln St, Columbus, OH 43215

“Everything cooked to perfection,” “outstanding,” “a stand-out restaurant experience in Columbus;” are some of the many compliments that Hiraeth has received since opening. With several reviews echoing the same sentiment as the latter, their menu, staff, and ambience are all more than deserving of recognition. We visited Hiraeth for the first time last week and were blown away by their diverse menu, the robust flavors of each dish, and our overall dining experience. It’s the type of place that keeps you wanting more, and we greatly look forward to visiting again!

Cento

595 S 3rd St, Columbus, OH 43215

Cameron Mitchell typically checks all the boxes when it comes to food, drink, and atmosphere in all of his restaurants. “Cento” is the Italian way of saying “one hundred,” and with Cento being Cameron Mitchell’s 100th restaurant, that name is fitting. This Italian restaurant is one of the most romantic settings in Columbus with a beautifully-crafted menu. Their table-side caesar salad is the best we’ve ever had, and that is no exaggeration. Additionally, their courtyard is a massive draw for customers and is just one reason why Columbus can’t get enough of it!

Goood Friend’s at Jackie O’s

171 N 4th St, Columbus, OH 43215

When we initially heard that Goood Friends at Jackie O’s on Fourth was set to open, we literally could not wait to get there as soon as we possibly could. Since Jackie O’s is already well-loved, we (along with other regulars) had high expectations that whatever food option they’d have would be incredible. Within the first week of opening, Goood Friends was already a major hit. Their sandwiches are out of this world with juicy and tender meat, mouthwatering sauces, and a generous amount of delightful toppings. Goood Friends deserves that extra “o,” because they truly are just that goood.

TeaMoji

5227 Godown Rd, Columbus, OH 43235

TeaMoji is genuinely one of our favorite little spots and most people seem to agree. They serve mochi donuts with a fun bubble-like shape which gives them a divine texture and also makes them easy to eat. Customers have said that the “quality is always consistent which is why it’s good,” and consistency says a lot! In addition to their adorable donuts, they’ve also got boba and rice hot dogs. With fast service, a cute atmosphere, and tasty treats – us Columbus people love TeaMoji!

Cobra Columbus

684 S High St, Columbus, OH 43206

This raving review seems to be the overall consensus about the new Cobra Columbus: “This restaurant/bar is a delightful addition to the city’s dining scene… Cobra is a must-visit for anyone in Columbus looking for an extraordinary dining experience.” Cobra is a draw for its amazing bar with a cocktail menu that is dialed in – according to customers! It is almost always packed which is a testament to its consistently satisfactory food and beverage menu. Customers have loved their delicious pork dumplings and dan dan noodles as well! Bravo, Cobra!
