It’s no secret that Columbus isn’t New York City. There aren’t 4 delis and 7 bodegas on every block.

But just because they’re more rare doesn’t mean we don’t have incredible delis scattered throughout Central Ohio, because we most certainly do!

Instead of forcing you to do all the work to find your new favorite spot for cured meats, cheeses, and incredible sandwiches, we took it upon ourselves to pull together the best delis in Columbus and Central Ohio that are worth their weight in gold. You can thank us later by sending us a half pound of prosciutto and peppered salame.

Here are some of our favorite delis in the area!

1. Vincenzo’s Convenient Elegance

6393 Sawmill Rd, Dublin, OH 43017

I don’t think I’ve found another Italian deli in Central Ohio that’s as delicious and authentic as Vincenzo’s. Everything is homemade, from their Italian bread to their pasta and meatballs. If you like good food, Vincenzo’s is the best kept secret in Central Ohio.

2. The Brown Bag Deli

898 Mohawk St, Columbus, OH 43206

After 50 years in the business, The Brown Bag Deli was just named the best hole in the wall in the state by Lovefood, and with good reason. I’ve never had a bad meal at The Brown Bag, and yet when I bring it up to my friends and family, so many people haven’t even heard of it!

3. Katzinger’s Delicatessen

475 S 3rd St, Columbus, OH 43215

Perhaps the most famous deli in all of Columbus, this Jewish-inspired spot has a huge menu and even huge-er sandwiches! Plus, their selection of meats and cheeses is so vast, I once left there with a pound-and-a-half of prosciutto because I panicked when it was my turn to order. That’s too much prosciutto for one man, but I still finished it in about a week!

4. Uptown Deli and Brew

41 N State St, Westerville, OH 43081

This European deli in Westerville has a hidden gem within its confines… a craft brewery! That’s right, you can order cured meats and cheeses, sandwiches, and charcuterie boards to your heart’s desire, and then head on to the back of the deli to wash it all down with some incredible brews from Temperance Row Brewing Company. Talk about a 2-for-1 deal!

5. Russian Club & Romashka Euro Deli

2400 W Granville Rd, Columbus, OH 43235

There’s always talk about which style of deli is better, Jewish delis or Italian delis. But not enough people are talking about how awesome Russian/Eastern European delis are! Fresh breads, cookies, pierogis, and other Eastern European delicacies line the shelves here, and it’s all so good. It’s definitely a unique experience in its own right, so go check it out sooner rather than later.

6. Main Street Deli

203 W Main St, West Jefferson, OH 43162

Main Street Deli is another unique deli, offering Amish deli meats, cheeses, sandwiches, and salads. Their portion sizes are absolutely phenomenal too. You really get a ton of bang for your buck here, and the staff is super friendly and helpful. It’s definitely worth checking out it if you live west of Columbus, and even if you don’t, it’s worth the drive to check it out!
