Celebrity Chef and Columbus’ favorite hometown celebrity Guy Fieri was in town last week for the opening of his new Italian restaurant, Guy Fieri’s Trattoria at Eldorado Scioto Downs just south of downtown.
But while he was doing highly publicized press coverage for the grand opening of his new restaurant, he secretly filmed content at spots around the city, presumably for his hit show Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives.
That’s why if you went to Joya’s on May 31st, you probably left disappointed as they were closed during the day for a “private event.”
That “private event” was so the Mayor of Flavortown, Guy Fieri, could highlight the breakfast joint for his show.
Obviously the man has good taste, as Joya’s is easily one of the best restaurants in the entire state. I just hope he tried my personal favorites, which include the Joya’s Breakfast Sandwich Bobby’s Way, the Egg Toast-in-a-Box, and the unbelievable donuts.
I shouldn’t be writing this while I’m hungry… guess I’m getting Joya’s for lunch — AGAIN (not mad about it tho).
If you haven’t been yet, consider this your sign to go. Because if you think they’re busy now, just wait until the Joya’s episode is released…
Be on the lookout for a Joyas feature (and maybe a few other Central Ohio staples) on Triple D!
