Pondering your next day out on the town?

Quick question, how is that going?

If you’d like to take a break and let us to the planning, by all means – take a load off. In this article, we’re going to walk you through a perfect, dream-like day in Columbus (Step Out Columbus style). How’s that sound? We consider ourselves to be pretty well-versed when it comes to the ins and outs of good ol’ Cbus, so if you will – just trust us here.

Your perfect day is just a few small paragraphs away..

Walk the Scioto Mile

233 S Civic Center Dr, Columbus, OH 43215 / more info

Ok, hear us out. Maybe the idea of a walk first thing in the morning doesn’t sound appealing to you, we get it. However, if there’s one place that will help put your foot on the right path for the day, (see what we did there) – it’s the Scioto Mile. Pop your headphones in, take a happy little jaunt, and enjoy a scenic morning walk along the Scioto River.

Breakfast & Coffee at Fox in the Snow Cafe

233 S Civic Center Dr, Columbus, OH 43215 / more info

Now that you’ve worked up an appetite; it’s pastry-time, baby. It’s actually pastry, egg-sandwich, and coffee time – excuse us. There’s nothing like a hefty breakfast and a perfect pour after a bit of movement, and Fox in the Snow is the spot for just that. Anything you order there will be good. If you will allow us to make a small suggestion (or a gently- aggressive nudge in the right direction) – we strongly suggest their Ethiopia pourover.

Peruse around Flower Child Vintage

233 E 5th Ave, Columbus, OH 43201 / more info

Just around the corner from Fox in the Snow is one of our favorite two-story vintage stores called Flower Child. If you haven’t heard of it, it’s gained popularity on social media as one of the best vintage stores in the United States. Even if you’re not big into vintage treasures, it’s worth a stop just for the visual appeal.

Order a Treat at Pattycake Bakery

3870 N High St, Columbus, OH 43214 / more info

Even if that breakfast from earlier filled you up, you have to at least order something to go from Pattycake Bakery. They’ve got classic sweet treats like cookies, muffins, cakes, cupcakes, and more special items. They also have numerous options for a range of dietary restrictions/preferences, including vegan & gluten-free options. The “Marry Me Blueberry” and “Cranberry Orange” muffins are personal favorites, and the Whoopie Pies are on our list of things to try!

Franklin Park Conservatory

1777 E Broad St, Columbus, OH 43203 / more info

How often do you get to see bewitchingly gorgeous florals and structural greenery in glass castles? If your answer is “often,” we’re envious of you, and also confused. And if you don’t get to see that kind of thing regularly, this will be one of the most visually stunning stops of the day. It’s Franklin Conservatory time.

Eat Through North Market

59 Spruce St, Columbus, OH 43215 / more info

We couldn’t plan a perfect day in Columbus without including the North Market in some way. The North Market is a public market that focuses on fresh, local, and authentic foods, drinks, and shopping. From various cheeses and jams, to boba and sushi, this is a must-do.

Walk & Shop Around Short North

N High St / more info

For seemingly endless local shopping, food, breweries, street-murals, and art – the Short North is the perfect location to check a lot of fun off the list, all in one place. You’ll walk under the famous arches that beautifully illuminate N High Street. Keep an eye out for the jaw-dropping street-murals between your shop-hopping through stores like Penn and Beech Candle Co., Stump, Green Olive Company, and more.

Go to the Ohio Theatre

39 E State St, Columbus, OH 43215 / more info

In our opinion, no perfect day in Columbus is complete without at least one form of entertainment, and The Ohio Theatre has got to be the most iconic way to do it! Whether you come for a string quartet, a symphony, a singular artist, or musical – you’ll feel whisked away into a world of art. There’s nothing quite as opulent in all of Columbus, seriously.

Drinks and Views at Stories on High

404 N High St, Columbus, OH 43215 / more info

End the day with a wrap-around view of the Columbus skyline, some drinks, a late night bite, and vibes. We don’t use the word “vibe” often, but Stories on High truly earns that kind of terminology. This rooftop bar won’t disappoint, we can practically guarantee it.
