You’ve probably seen it all over social media, but the Junto Hotel opened it’s doors at the beginning of June, 2023 and it’s the real deal. The Junto Hotel hopes to be recognized as a destination for entrepreneurial, creative travelers and locals alike to “assemble” and make things happen. The hotel is situated just a hop, skip, and a jump from COSI on Belle St, and is beaming with modern zest.

The hotel has already made a name for itself amongst the food and drink enthusiasts of Columbus, and we went to get the scoop.

Maudine’s

Our first stop was at Maudine’s, the hotel’s “neighborhood coffee shop,” that pays homage to a woman named Maudine Ormsby. The shop’s aesthetic is timeless with black and white tiles, pops of red, and an industrial-style ceiling.

Maudine’s menu is dialed in and we simply couldn’t resist one of their decadent pastries. We ordered a chocolate croissant, a bacon, egg, and cheese breakfast taco, and one of their adorable cow sugar cookies (to celebrate the theme of Maudine’s). For drinks, we ordered one of their seasonal Strawberry Mint Matchas with oat milk (a house suggestion), as well as an iced oat latte. We’re not kidding when we say that everything we tried was exceptional.

We love that they prioritize high-quality ingredients to ensure the absolute best results. The owner (Brooke) and her team are the masterminds behind their array of unique syrups, and we could literally taste the love.

The Brass Eye

Later that evening, we made our way up to the top floor of the beautiful Junto for drinks and food at their rooftop bar called The Brass Eye. We instantly noted that their attention to detail was executed seamlessly; from their seating, to their decor elements, and their clever menu.

We sat outside on the rooftop patio and were taken back by the overwhelming beauty of the city skyline. It’s one of the best views of Columbus to date! Next time we go, we plan to get a seat on their jaw-dropping open patio with a double-sided fireplace, conversation-style seating, and string lights. However, our actual seat on the covered portion of the patio still had a gorgeous view of COSI and the LeVeque Tower, and we has easy access to the indoor-outdoor bar.

Our waitress pointed us in the right direction when it came to drinks – because the bright pink “Bramblin Man” was undoubtedly one of the best cocktails we’ve ever had. We also tried their Deviled Eggs and their Summer Corn + Burrata Toast. Both were packed with flavor and surprisingly very filling! The atmosphere at The Brass Eye is incredibly warm, romantic, and upscale – making it the perfect spot for girl’s night or a date!

We were over the moon about our experience at the Junto and can’t wait to return for more Matchas, cocktails, and delicious food!
