When you think about going on dates, a few things probably come to mind: dinner, drinks, romance, existential dread it’ll go horribly wrong… oh the last one is just me? Got it.

Instead of a typical date night, we’ve planned the ideal Sunday morning or afternoon date for you and your special someone. This is the perfect chill date for a birthday, Valentine’s Day, or even just a first date!

Whether it’s your first date or your hundredth, this cute date idea will leave you feeling the loooooove! And, it won’t break the bank like a Friday night happy hour, dinner, and dessert typically does.

Stop 1: Stauf’s Coffee Roasters

627 S 3rd St #1060, Columbus, OH 43206

Nothing quite like a warm (or if you’re like me, iced) cup of coffee to get the day started and the blood pumping. Plus, there’s just something special about a coffee shop date. It’s cute, it’s fun, it smells great, the stakes are low. As long as you don’t spill hot coffee on your hot date, this is the perfect start to a chill Sunday date.

Stop 2: Katzinger’s Delicatessen

475 S 3rd St, Columbus, OH 43215

While this New York-style deli might not sound like it has romance written all over it, the food most definitely is infused with love. It’s impossible not to get romantic about good food, and Katzinger’s has just that. Plus, their menu is massive, so neither you nor your partner will go hungry. And thanks to the large menu, you can have breakfast, lunch, or dinner here. Rest assured, it’s going to be delicious. Did we mention it’s a stone’s throw from Stauf’s? Yeah, we aren’t messing around here. This date is going to rock.

Stop 3: The Columbus Museum of Art

480 E Broad St, Columbus, OH 43215

The historic Columbus Museum of Art is the oldest registered museum in Ohio and houses rotating exhibitions year-round. There’s something for everyone, from “The Creative Art of LEGO” exhibit to the “CATS” exhibit which, you guessed it, is all about cats. Why else is the Columbus Museum of Art the perfect stop for a chill Sunday date? The museum is free on Sundays! Not to brag, but it feels like we’re getting pretty good at stoking the flames of your love life all while saving you money, honey.
