Contrary to popular belief, Ohio is much more than just cornfields and dairy farms. We have beaches. We have the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains. Heck, we even have places that don’t even feel like Earth!

I know you’re probably wonder what I could possibly be talking about, but just bear with me.

Quarry Trails Metro Park is the 20th park in Columbus’ Metro Park system, and it has such a unique and eclectic vibe that it almost feels like you are transported to another planet in the Solar System.

The park is an old quarry that has since been converted, leaving incredible rock formations and the ability to venture into the Earth’s crust. It has such a unique vibe — a super cool blend of nature and the work of humans — that keeps you coming back for more.

It has a super sweet mountain biking area for those seeking adventure, paved trails, a fenced in dog park, a mesmerizing waterfall viewing area (see the video below), and so much more for you to explore.

I highly recommend going during off-peak hours (during the weekdays, mid-afternoon or so) to get the full “wait a minute, am I actually on another planet?” experience.
