A new kind of golf has arrived in Ohio, folks. And it’s ADDICTING.
This new sport is called Park Golf, and it just opened near Lake Logan in Hocking Hills. It’s only the second course of its kind in the entire United States, which feels like a pretty big deal for our little corner of the Midwest.
It’s pretty straightforward, but in layman’s terms, it’s doing to golf what pickleball has done to tennis.
It’s competitive, low-impact, super fun, and great for all ages and skill levels.
So… What Is Park Golf, Exactly?
What? My croquet, mini golf, and regular golf analogy wasn’t good enough for you?
Just kidding. It’s like regular golf in that you use a club to hit a ball into a hole, and each hole has a different layout. We’re talking everything from tee boxes and fairways to greens and even rough!
(If you’re unfamiliar with golf: Fairways = good, rough = bad. Avoid the tall stuff. Easier said than done, I know.)
It’s like mini golf because you only need one club. It’s not quite a putter, not quite a driver. It’s a glorious in-between that lets you wind up and smack the ball at a distance but also tap in those shorter putts.
No full swings required. The holes are shorter than traditional golf, but bigger than your typical clown-mouth mini golf hole.
It’s like croquet because the ball is about the size of a croquet or bocce ball (but not as heavy), and the club has a flat face. So even if you’ve never swung a golf club before, this won’t feel intimidating. Plus the flat face keeps balls low to the ground.
It’s unlike croquet in that you don’t have to wear all white while you play. Thank god.

It’s Affordable and Family-Friendly
“I love spending tons of money just to have a little bit of fun,” said nobody in history.
Luckily, park golf is not only a ton of fun, it’s extremely affordable.
Here’s the price breakdown:
- $10 per adult
- $5 per child (15 & under, must be accompanied by an adult)
- $150 Season Pass
And if you’re the type to plan ahead and try to schedule dinner reservations after your round, games typically last about:
- 40 minutes for two players
- 1 hour 15 minutes for four players
- Longer if your squad is rolling deep
No reservations or tee times. It’s first come, first served.
You’ll pay and grab your clubs at the Campbell Cove Camp Store. No need to bring your golf bag.
