If you think about it, we’re all creatures of habit to a certain degree. Every fall, we visit a cutie little pumpkin patch and take family photos in our classic plaid shirts. In the winter, many of us visit the Christmas tree farm to pick out our perfect tree. In the spring and summer, we visit strawberry farms and farmer’s markets to stock up on all the freshest local produce we can. What can we say, we’re big on seasons.

Well folks, we’re here to tell you that it is officially sunflower season here in Central OH.

*insert “Sunflower, Vol. 6” by Harry Styles for ambience*

Let’s keep sunflowers “sweet in our memory” and pay a visit to these bright yellow fields to close out the summer and ring in the fall. Here’s a list of some beautiful sunflower fields and farms near Columbus!

Reminder: Sunflower season is limited, so make sure to check with the fields themselves before visiting to confirm they are open!

CherryHawk Farm

16220 Springdale Rd, Marysville, OH 43040

CherryHawk Farm is a perfect spot to bask in the glory of some of the world’s happiest flowers. If you choose to visit this sunflower field, you’ll take home a peck of apples as they are included in the cost of admission. CherryHawk requests that visitors do not stop at any point on the road prior to parking even though the sunflowers will be in view. The safety of all visitors and drivers are their top priority! To maintain the beauty and fullness of the fields, guests are allowed to cut one sunflower stem each.

Branstool Orchards

5895 Johnstown-Utica Rd NE, Utica, OH 43080

Starting in early October 2024, Branstool Orchards’ sunflower field will officially be open! Note that this is later than most sunflower blooms, so keep an eye out on their website for updates. Just a PSA – Branstool Orchards is a spectacular spot to bring a camera and snap some family photos. Also, leashed dogs are welcome to enjoy the sunflowers as long as they are leashed and are kept out of the market area. If you plan to visit the farm, bring your own pruners and make sure to check their facebook in case of bad weather! Bring some close-toed shoes and enjoy!

By the way, there are tons of photo ops at Hendren Farm Market – so prepare to do some damage to your camera roll and cellphone storage (in a good way).
