In a city with so much variety in cuisines, flavors, and styles, it’s always so exciting to see new restaurants come in and make a name for themselves. Over the past month or so, we’ve seen several grand openings that received rave reviews, and we couldn’t help but pass along the good news.
Whether you like established spots that have opened new locations or are looking to try something brand new, this list has you covered!
Did we miss one? Did one of these places close? Send us a note!
Crimson Cup in Lewis Center
6459 Artesian Run, Lewis Center, OH 43035
If you know anything about Columbus coffee, then you know Crimson Cup has been a fan favorite year after year. So much so that the cries for them to open a location in the north suburbs reached a fever pitch, and Crimson Cup gave the people what they needed! This new location has dine-in and drive-thru service, so whether you’re looking for a WFH spot or a quick cup on the way to work, you won’t be disappointed.
Dosa Kitchen Indian Grill
1307 Stoneridge Dr, Gahanna, OH 43230
This Indian restaurant brings a whole new world of flavors to East Columbus. South Indian restaurants are few and far between on the east side of town, which makes Dosa Kitchen’s grand opening all the more exciting. Their Dosa, which is a South Indian speciality that somewhat resembles a crepe, is their claim to fame (as the restaurant name suggests) and it is deeeeeelicious.
Jenny’s Diner
4768 N High St, Columbus, OH 43214
I’ve always said, the world needs more classic diners! Apparently, the owners of Jenny’s Diner have been eavesdropping on my conversations, because that’s exactly what this spot is. It looks and feels like it came straight out of the 50s in the best way, and the menu features diner staples like corned beef hash, eggs benedict, country fried steak, and plenty of griddle items too. I will certainly be visiting sooner rather than later!
Dough Boyz Pizza
207 W Johnstown Rd, Columbus, OH 43230
While the residents of Gahanna were sad to see the local favorite, Mr. T’s Pizza, close up shop earlier this month, a new pizza shop is looking to build upon Mr. T’s legacy. Dough Boyz Pizza is opening their second location in the Columbus area, where they are famous for their “Day’s Pepperoni Bomber” pizza. Say less, I’m in.
Wario’s Beef and Pork in Clintonville
4219 N High St, Columbus, OH 43214
Wario’s stood as a hidden gem in downtown Columbus’ Arena District for years, serving up lunch and dinner for the lucky few who knew of their incredible sandwiches and sides. As the years went on and the word began to spread, it became less of a hidden gem and more of a staple for anyone within a 30 minute drive of the city. Thus spawned their new location, which offers the same incredible food and charm, but with more seating so you can hear others around you moan in sheer bliss after their first bite into “The Steak.” (Just kidding… kinda)
PJ Hot Pot
6100 Sawmill Rd, Dublin, OH 43017
Did someone say we don’t have enough all-you-can-eat spots in our great city? Well, the Flavortown gods heard you, because Columbus’ newest Korean BBQ spot is exactly that… all-you-can-eat. If you’ve never had Korean BBQ or hot pots, this dining experience will surely be one to remember with food served and cooked directly at the table by YOU!
Kura Revolving Sushi Bar
8833 Lyra Dr, Columbus, OH 43240
Have you ever had conveyor belt sushi before? At Kura Revolving Sushi Bar, your sushi is, you guessed it, brought to you via a conveyor belt that is adjacent to your table. It’s like we’re entering into the new era of dining in Columbus, and we are here for it. I can’t wait to eat way too many California Rolls.
